Types of Services
Prince of Peace offers two types of worship services, traditional and contemporary.

Traditional Services. We offer three traditional services every weekend, one on Saturday and two on Sunday. The Saturday, 5:30 p.m. service is an intimate, quiet gathering and our Sunday, 8:30 and 9:45 a.m. services can be best described as festive worship with choirs, bells, an organ and soloists. These services are held in the main sanctuary located inside the church on the west side of the building. Upon entering the sanctuary, be sure to get a Worship Folder from an usher so you can follow along with the service.

Contemporary Service. Our Crossroads, contemporary service includes a live band, lively music and a more open and informal type of service. This service is held in the Christian Life Center, which is inside the church along the east side of the building.

We invite you to attend and explore these different styles of service and discover which one suits you best. You may find you enjoy them both!

An open invitation for communion
It is our belief that in the Sacrament of Holy Communion we experience the real presence of the risen Lord in our lives. All who have received their first communion, who receive communion in their home congregation, or who believe in the real presence of Christ, are invited to receive Holy Communion. Grape juice is available for those who prefer it. The communion assistant will provide juice for you if you request it at the time of reception.

Children not yet receiving Communion are invited to come forward to receive a blessing.

If you are unable to come to the altar railing and would like to receive communion, please tell an usher and communion will be brought to you.

A special note for parents of young children
Your children are always welcome in worship. Children’s bulletins and activity boxes are available in the lobby. An usher will be pleased to show you where they are.

If you prefer, nursery is provided during Sunday morning services for infants to age 3. Ask an usher for the location of the nursery.

Sunday school is held at both 8:30 and 9:45 services on Sunday.

Sunday School for children age 3 through high school is available September through May. An adult class is held at 8:30 am every Sunday.

Prince of Peace is on the north side of Higgins Road, adjacent to Hoffman Estates High School. The church is about 1/2 mile west of the intersection of Golf and Higgins Road. Prince of Peace is 4 miles to the west of Interstate 290/Route 53.
