GREATER CHICAGO FOOD DEPOSITORY

Prince of Peace volunteers! Our next trip to the GCFD is scheduled for August 2. As always, you will find the posters (with pictures from the last two trips) as well as the sign-up sheets at the east and north entrances to the church this Sunday and the next. If you have never been involved in this activity, you might like to try it once. We really have a good time while earning food credits for the Elijah's Pantry and also helping to package food products for many of the 600 pantries in the Chicago area. If you have any questions, please call Sharon Mattson at (224) 569-6830. By the way, if you have a Food Depository T-shirt, please wear it to church on Sunday, July 27.

TUESDAY A.M. ADULT BIBLE STUDY

Will begin September 9th at 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Our study for this quarter is from Augsburg Adult Bible Studies Called, The New Testament Community. A look at the New Testament through the lens of the early Christian community and itıs beginnings, work, ministry, Struggles, growth, persecution and witness. These studies are a comprehensive and continuous study of scripture to inform oneıs Christian faith and discipleship in daily life. Books will be available later in August. Everyone is welcome. For more information call Duane Borgan at 847-882-2492.

THE WOMEN'S FRIDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY GROUP

will meet the first Friday in September (9:30 am - 11:00 am) and continue for 12 weeks, excluding the Friday after Thanksgiving. The study will be "Galatians: Walking in God's Grace", the most recent of the Christianity 101 Bible Study Series authored by Bickel and Jantz. Galatians emphasizes that salvation is based on God's grace alone through Christ alone. The authors' humorous approach to the study detracts not a bit from the truth of the message. Rather, it provides a comfortable and rewarding atmosphere for those who are new as well as those not-so-new to Bible study. Galatians is as relevant today as when it was written. Martin Luther was so fond of the book that he referred to it as "his wife." Well, you many not be that fond of it, but try it, you'll like it! Study guides are available in the church office. For more information, contact Bettye Petersen. Phone: 224-569-3744. E-mail: bettye1227@sbcglobal.net.
