  New Revised Standard Version
• Simplest Versions
  One of the simplest versions is Good News for Modern Man which is not a translation but a paraphrase written by a man so that his children could understand the Bible. 
• Pastor Karen's favorites
  • New International Version
    A good mix of scholarship and readability.
  • Message Bible
    Becoming a favorite. It uses more contemporary language and really seems to get to the point on a lot of things. The scholarship is probably not as good.
• Most accurate and Scholarly
  Revised Standard Version.
  Readability is a bit more difficult.
• Children's Bibles - A Plethora
  • Pre-teen Bibles available in comic book format.
  • Bibles to be shared by father and daughter.
