Youth

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church offers a variety of exciting and engaging programs for youth of all ages. On this page, you can see descriptions of our ongoing programs; special programs are also offered from time to time.  We invite you to be a part of our youth fellowship and spiritual growth programs.

Stepping Stones

Walking the Journey of faith is exciting! We work hard to help your child work through the stepping stones.

Primary Grades

  • Blessing of three-year olds in the fall as they begin Sunday School.
  • Weekly Sunday School at 9:45 AM from September through May.
  • Prayer Pillow Partners. First grade children are teamed with a High School student and agree to pray for each other every day.
  • Presentation of Bibles. In second grade all children receive their own Bible, usually around Reformation Sunday as we celebrate the centrality of Scripture in Christian life.
  • A First Communion workshop introduces 3rd graders and their families to God’s gift of Holy Communion. Following the workshop a worship service is held where the children celebrate Holy Communion for the first time with their families.
  • A “Family Building” retreat with parents is held for 4th graders. In this retreat a connection is made between the children, their parents and the community of faith.

5th and 6th Grades

  • Weekly Sunday School at 9:45 AM September through May
  • Wednesday evening “Faith Fest” programs feature Bible study, music, crafts and skits to reinforce team building and fellowship.
  • An annual community building retreat is held.
