Serving Opportunities
The main goal of the Board of Communications is to publicize the ministries of the congregation.
- Tidings Editor:
Schedules, plans, and assembles the congregational newsletter. Allow Pastors to review it before printing. Take newsletter to the printer for copying. Attend quarterly committee meetings.
- Webmaster:
Updates the church web page weekly. Sees that the PPC minutes are on the web site. Displays screen messages in church between services and assists with periodic special events.
- Press Coordinator:
Establish and maintain a continuous list of interesting, upcoming events through contact with the boards. Recruit journalists to write articles to submit to local newspapers along with photos when appropriate. Maintain good relationships with newspaper contacts. Oversee the publication of the pictorial and text based church directories. Place ads for special events Maintain Yellow Pages listings
- Journalist:
Write articles of interest and submit to the local newspapers.
- Photographer:
Be present at church events and take pictures. Maintain a file of all pictures. Supply pictures as requested for newspaper publication or other use by the church. Obtain releases before photographing members.
- Power Point Preparation Crossroads:
Prepare power point presentations of song texts or other presentations as requested for use in Crossroads Worship. Include searching out appropriate images for use as background.
- Power Point Preparation Announcements:
Prepare screen messages and announcements for use in worship services.
- Power Point Operator:
Run presentations at worship services.
- A/V Coordinator:
Maintain an inventory of all A/V equipment. Make arrangement for repairs. Develop a check-out system.
- Audio Technician:
Mix console operation, identify, and play pre-service and after service music CD’s as requested. Set up and verify operation of sound equipment when band performs outside the Christian Life Center. Put microphones away after worship.
- Church Directory Co-ordinator:
Oversee the publication of the church pictorial directory
- Advertising Co-ordinator:
Phone book yellow pages listings. Place newspaper advertisements for holidays and other events.
