Serving Opportunities
The primary goal of the Board of Christian Life is to promote a welcoming Christian environment where people can grow in the grace of Christian fellowship.
- Sunday Fellowship Coordinator:
Establish a calendar of workers to prepare Sunday morning fellowship and to clean up after the event. Establish a schedule of groups (such as Sunday School classes) to donate baked goods for Sunday fellowship. Provide training for volunteers and oversee activities.
- Coffee Coordinator: Establish a monthly schedule of workers to prepare coffee, put out baked goods, and clean up after each Sunday. Purchase or solicit donations for kitchen supplies such as coffee, tea, sugar, creamer, and stirrers.
- Coffee Worker: Prepare and place out necessary supplies, coffee, cold drinks, and baked goods for Sunday coffee as scheduled. Clean up afterwards.
- Kitchen Maintenance Coordinator: Look after the kitchen, checking on appliances and making sure that everything is in good repair. Make sure that groups using the kitchen are cleaning up properly. Maintain an inventory of everything in the kitchen. Arrange to have the kitchen cleaned on a regular basis.
- Special Events Coordinator: Manage the fellowship portion of events such as Pastor Appreciation Week, Lenten Events, Thanksgiving Eve, Church Picnic, Annual Stewardship Event. Coordinate events with other Boards as needed. Establish a coordinator for each event. Help plan menus for each event. Coordinate with shopper for procurement of supplies.
- Kitchen Volunteer Coordinator: Arrange for appropriate volunteers for events as requested. Establish a schedule when appropriate. Train workers as necessary.
- Baker: Provide baked goods for events as requested.
- Cook: Cook at the church or at home for special events as requested.
- Shopper: Inventory the usable goods in the kitchen. Buy items as needed to insure adequate supplies are on hand for fellowship events. Be a resource for other groups using the kitchen facilities.
- Set Up/Clean Up Help: Assist with set up and clean up for events as requested.
- Thank you Coordinator: Write timely and appropriate thank you notes as needed and directed. Bring appropriate requests for public/special thank you requests to the Board.
