Our Mission
In 1996 Prince of Peace defined its mission as a congregation by focusing on three primary emphases: worship, personal spiritual growth, and service. In 2001 the mission statement was refined to read as follows:
“Prince of Peace Lutheran Church welcomes people to worship and nurtures spiritual growth and fellowship so that, in Christ’s name, we may serve those in need wherever they are.”
Growing out of that statement, a set of criteria has been developed to assist our leaders in evaluating current programming and in developing new ministries.

Our Vision
During 1999 the congregation developed a new vision document, thus laying a foundation for moving in the 21st Century. The vision reads as follows:
Prince of Peace will be organized for action to be:
- A growing community
- Responsive to needs
- Providing programs that connect Christian values and faith to daily life.
To accomplish that vision, the following objectives were developed:
- Worship in a way that connects to the unchurched, youth, and others who don’t necessarily relate to our traditional Lutheran worship format, while continuing to worship in a way, which is comfortable to our existing congregation.
- Provide programs that make a real impact, are relevant to daily life, and fit our overall vision.
- Integrate worship, serving and growing in both our personal lives and congregational life.
- Grow in numbers in several key areas:
- worship
- Sunday education
- Mid-week education
- People serving in ministries
- People served by ministries
- Financial giving
- Strive for excellence in ministry, worship and programming.
- Develop a willingness to serve.
- Develop leaders within the congregation.
