Spiritual Growth Ministry at
Prince of Peace
Helping people lead Christ-centered lives through worship, personal spiritual growth and service are prominent values for Prince of Peace.

And what is a spiritual gift? It is when we use our talents and abilities in God’s service, both within the context of the congregation and in the world in which we live.

A variety of programs are offered to help members use and develop their spiritual gifts.

Stephen Ministry
Over twenty members of our congregation have completed 50 hours of instruction for the purpose of becoming Stephen Ministers. These persons are available to provide ongoing support to persons at their points of need. A monthly continuing education seminar is provided to help these Stephen Ministers develop greater skill in providing this assistance. For more information on becoming a Stephen Minister or to receive assistance from a Stephen Minister, contact one of the pastors or one of the Stephen Ministry leaders: Janet Ichida, Pam Johnson, or Mary Simonis.

Ministry and Daily Life
Each month a group of members gather for breakfast to discuss ways of relating faith to daily life. This becomes an excellent place to discuss some of the ethical issues involved in trying to live out faith in the work place and at home. The group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 a.m. at Old Bridge Restaurant on Golf Road.

The Alpha Program
Periodically the congregation sponsors a series of programs entitled The Alpha Program. The course is designed to help persons obtain and overview of the Christian faith. The class is particularly appropriate for persons who are new to the Christian faith and who are eager to learn more. Pastor Karen O’Malia typically leads these classes, with the assistance of lay leaders in the congregation.
